Today is the last day of Enrich for 2011. Here is my reflection for the year.

BAKING AND MAKING

Today at enrich it was our last science session.Todays session was the most fun,because we made hokey pokey and sherbet.

The ingredients in the sherbet were tartaric and citric acid,raro,icing sugar and baking soda. We got to taste everything. Raro was the best and baking soda the worst.I really liked science this term , it would probably be my highlight of the year!

Debating

Today at Enrich I did debating. I was on the affirmative team again.The topic was: Homework should be banned. I was the 2nd speaker. My reason was it causes to much stress and your brain has been studying for 6 hours and too much information bulges up in your brain. Our team lost 6-4.I got one point for my point.

Debating

Today at Enrich I went to debating with Katie. I was in the formative team, the topic was 'should a family have more than one car?'. My reason was if a teenager was learning to drive and an adult was there with him then the other parent could take a younger child to football at the same time. I got one point for that answer. Unfortunately my team lost 8-7.

Talent development - science

Today I chose science over maths for talent development.Katie is the teacher of science.we tested candle,remote control,lamp and microscope for the the amount of light it had. We had to predict: flick or consistent.I got 2/4. The lamp had the most light and microscope the least.

To have a bigger backyard to play in

Today I,ve been working on a voice over for the opening of our documentary.It took lots of times to get it correct which was annoying! Next week is our last week so today has been pretty full on. Next week we have to edit lots and finish.

Velodrome interview

Today my mum took Ash and I down to Cycling Southland to interview Mr Jeffery about how the ILT has sponsored them.The ILT are their main sponsor and have donated over $10,000.Mr Jeffery said the indoor velodrome would not be there without the ILT.We even got to interview him inside the velodrome.Without the ILT Velodrome NZ would not be one of the top cycling nations.

CHESS

At Enrich chess features a lot . We have to play chess every morning, it comes under mental edge and is a thinking\maths game. Chess is very challenging! The most valuable chess piece is the queen that can move diagonal,forwards and backwards and is worth 9 points.Also today I versed Alana and she beat me so I now want to inviolate her.

Talent development - Documentary

In the past weeks a few people have visited us to talk to us about interview techniques. Gussy Johnston, Kate Buchannan and Steve were their names and what they said was very interesting-I learnt some new things like how to stand when I am speaking on camera, and how to speak clearly. Steve is coming back in a few weeks to teach us editing techniques,that will be cool! -

Today we got into groups of 3-4. My group is FINN, LOUIE, ASH AND I. Our topic is how the ILT helps Invercargill. Today we orgainised when experts are coming in to help us. Our group had to write the phone call to the Southland Times journalism section.

Today

Today we had to choose between documentary making , art or story telling for talent development.I chose documentaries, we are entering the MADE awards in the category "documentary". Today I learnt how important the ILT is, there would not be a velodrome , southland stags , several restaurants and hotels\motels without them .

Penguin eats sand and...

Last week I completed the current affairs questions on the penguin "Happy Feet", that ate sand on the beach. I published my work using Comic Life. It includes images and the answers to the questions. The penguin has had an operation and is now resting in Wellington Zoo.

Sir Edmund Hillary

This is a report on Sir Edmund Hillary's achievements. He was 88 years old when he died. He died in Auckland hospital due to a heart failure on 11 january 2008. I did this on Comic Life.

Review on Enrich term 1

This is a review on Enrich term 1, of what I completed.I used comic life because it's my favorite ICT tool.

This review includes must-do-can-do sheet , from the very 1st week to the very last week.My 2 highlights of the term have been history and learning about interactions.In week 3 we went on a field trip. We went to the boardwalk , a kindergarten and a walk around the town.I partnered up with Louie and my teacher was Darryn.
